Dave Dettmer, DVM

Veterinarian/Practice Owner

• Education: Purdue University

Dr. Dave graduated from Purdue University in 1979 with a BS in Animal Science and 1983 from Purdue's Veterinary School. I started working a several clinics doing mixed animal until 1987 when I joined practice with Dr. Andy We have been partners at Animal Care Clinic since 1989 I initially enjoyed both large and small animals but gradually moved to exclusive small animals where I found my true love for veterinary medicine. I enjoy many aspects of Veterinary Medicine but especially surgery and dermatology. I married Carol in 1988 and we are the proud parents of 2 children, a daughter who graduated from Purdue University in 2016 and a son who graduated from Wabash College in 2015 and will graduate from Northwestern University Law School in 2018. We have 3 cats and 2 St. Bernards so we are no stranger to saliva and hair but love them all. I enjoy anything with the outside on my time off especially playing on my tractor. I hope to enjoy many more years practicing veterinary medicine.

Kyle Yarde, DVM

Veterinarian

I grew up on a family farm in rural Garrett. Graduated from Garrett High School in 2007. Attended Purdue University where I majored in Biology, then continued in their Veterinary Medicine Program, graduating in May 2014. In September 2014, I married my wife, Laura, who grew up on a farm in Avilla. We recently remodeled an old farm house in Garrett that has been in my family for 100 years. In my off time, I enjoy helping youth through 4-H, hunting, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I am very glad to be practicing in the community. With my background in agriculture, my passion lies with large animal medicine, but nothing surpasses the pleasure I get in helping small animals.
